HIGH SHINE. “In a contemporary city apartment it’s all about striking the balance between design that’s both alluring and practical,” design studio Millier explains. The firm practises what it preaches by opting for an ultra-glam (but secretly very practical) console for a central London project.
Showcasing a designer-favoured move, Greer Interior Design banks on the versatility of a small console table and backs one against a sofa in a breezy Hill Country living room arrangement. The corrugated finish, cast concrete console – the Belmont, designed by Mr Brown – acts as a bridge between the finish of the grey concrete fireplace and the warm wooden floor.
Also introduce objects that vary in height to bring visual weight to the vignette and help to create balance. Remember to keep it simple – don’t over-clutter. Allow white space for the eye to rest.
Add Botanicals and Blooms. Add plants or flowers for a beautiful natural element. Flowers look and smell amazing and are great for adding a pop of colour to a room, while plants are an absolute must-have in order to create a welcoming oasis!
