Upholstery aside, you can also find coffee tables made from glass, metal and stone, just to mention a few. A coffee table covered in mirrors can help a small living room look bigger, and a glass coffee table looks stunning on top of a brilliantly patterned rug. Because some modern man-made materials are easily molded into any shape, designers are creating more coffee tables with non-traditional forms. A stone coffee table (or one made to look like stone) adds a natural element to the space.
There are limitless options as to how you can style your table, but I’ve taken some of my favorite examples and categorized them into 6 Style Approaches based on the premise used to create the design. The Four Corners. The premise of this approach is that all four corners of the coffee table are weighted equally so that the entire surface feels balanced.
